Obituary for Deborah Ann Gebhardt (Palmer)

Deborah Ann (Palmer) Gebhardt, 72, of Pittsfield, MA died suddenly at her home on Wednesday May 17, 2023. She was born in Pittsfield, MA on June 12, 1950, the daughter of James I. Palmer and Jane (Granfield) Palmer.

She graduated from Pittsfield High School in the class of 1968, where she excelled in all subjects, especially languages. She attended Berkshire Community College and graduated from the University of Texas.

Debbie was employed for years as a popular cosmetic consultant at England Brothers’ Department Store in Pittsfield, MA and was last employed as an executive event planner with Enron Corporation in Houston, TX.

Debbie was an avid dog lover and helped to establish K-9 Angels Rescue adoption services where she lived in Houston, regularly helping to coordinate adoption and spay / neuter events throughout the city. She also was actively involved in the Diana Foundation in Houston, helping to benefit and support her large number of friends in the community.

She is survived by her son, Joseph Pero of Pittsfield, MA and her daughter, Charity Pero of Oakland, OR. She also leaves two brothers, William Palmer of St. Augustine, FL and John Palmer of Dalton, MA. She was predeceased by a third brother, James Palmer, of Claremore, OK. She also leaves a sister, Maryjane Marinakis of Pittsfield, MA and numerous nieces and nephews.
