Obituary for Fred Roa

Fred Roa, father to Jennifer, past husband to Susanne, grandfather to Jack, Luke and Tyler, father in law to John, brother to Ronald and Stella died Saturday June 5, 2021 at the Mt. Greylock Extended Care Facility in Pittsfield. He was born in New York, NY. on March 20, 1937 a son of Frederick and Carmela (Cannizzarro) Roa.
Fred was always the biggest energy in the room. The storyteller, the toast master, and jokester. When Fred did something he went all in. Professionally as a M&A entrepreneur, and other years as a CPA, he was sharp, and formed many relationships.
Fred had many hobbies and experiences, and gave them all his full dedication: acting, tennis, racquetball, USTA umpiring, chess (he was nearly ranked a master), dog owner, avid fan of the lottery. In his youth he served in the Army. He led a very full life.
Fred was a loving father and grandfather-always bringing joy to the world. A converted and dedicated Jew, he donated his time for years to help out with the Hebrew School kids at Hevreh, Great Barrington. This brought him much joy. Fred was one of a kind, bigger than Life, and irreplaceable. He will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched but never forgotten.
Graveside services Fred Roa took place on Monday, June 7, 2021 at the Ahavath Sholom Cemetery in Great Barrington. The Flynn & Dagnoli Bencivenga Funeral Home, 5 Elm St. Pittsfield, MA; are in care of arrangements. To add to the Book of Memories, please visit www.flynndagnolifuneralhomes.com.
