Obituary for Roger Michael Gallese

Roger Michael Gallese of North Adams passed away peacefully at Berkshire Medical Center on Saturday, May 29, 2021.
Roger was born in North Adams on October 10, 1949, youngest child of Alfred and Evelyn Peters Gallese. He attended St. Joseph’s elementary and high school, graduating in 1967. Roger later earned an Associate’s degree in Accounting from St. Joseph’s Business College, Bennington, VT.
Roger worked at many jobs, including those with the North Adams Park Commission, Accountant for the former Hoosac Community Resources, and caregiver for the Adult Day Health Center Program. He was primary caregiver for his mother during her illness in her final year.
In his earlier years, Roger was a lover and maker of music, a self-taught instrumentalist and composer. He was an early and avid collector of popular albums, including an almost complete collection of Beatles works. He enjoyed playing piano, keyboard, and guitar, and composing music for family members and special events.
Right up until late last fall, Roger was also an avid walker.
Roger was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his brother, Alfred Gallese, Jr., and three sisters: Marilyn Carlson, Diane Parsons, and Leslie Schmidt. He is also survived by seven nieces and nephews and several great nieces and great nephews.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Roger Gallese will be celebrated Friday June 4, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow at Southview Cemetery. A calling hour AT THE CHURCH will be Friday morning from 10-11 AM. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may donate to the St. Vincent de Paul Society through St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church.
