Born in North Adams, MA on March 13, 1941, she was the daughter of James A. Hardman, Jr. and Sarah Buffum Hardman. She grew up in North Adams along with her five siblings. Susan married Harold S. Bohl on April 25, 1964 and two years later they moved to Stamford, Vt where she resided until her death. She was instrumental in establishing the North Adams Ambulance Service and the former Northern Berkshire Hospice. She remained close to her family and those of her siblings which gave her great joy throughout her life.
