Obituary for Evelyn Frances Shade-Ritcher (King)
Evelyn Frances (King) formerly Shade then Ritcher 80, of North Adams died Sunday January 15, 2023 at Williamstown Commons. She was born in North Adams on February 1, 1942 a daughter of Frederick and Ruth May (Sweeney) King.
Evelyn attended schools in North Adams, MA. She was a devoted and loving mother and loved spending time with her family. Her first husband Eugene Amos Shade and second husband Calvin Ritcher both predeceased her.
Survivors include her three daughters, Dawn LaPlante (David) of Dalton, MA. Deborah Dempsey (John) of Pownal, VT. Donna Miller (James) of North Adams, MA, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She also leaves sister, Beverly Cloutier of Williamstown, MA., brothers Joseph King of Williamstown, MA. , Ronald King of North Adams, MA. and several nieces and nephews. Evelyn was predeceased by daughter, Diane Shade, sons, Jerome Shade, Eugene Shade, sisters Ruth Adams, Shirley Gardner, brothers Fred King and Robert Devio. The family of Evelyn would like to extend their gratitude to Williamstown Commons and Hospice Care of the Berkshires for all the care and support given to both Evelyn and the family.
