Obituary for Edward Joseph Duquette

Edward Joseph Duquette Sr. 77, of Cheshire, MA. died Thursday November 18, 2021 at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. He was born in North Adams on March 20, 1944 a son of the late Walter and Doris Mary (LaBonte) Duquette.
Edward graduated from Drury High School and was a member of Massachusetts Army National Guard as a private first class tank operator. He was a heavy equipment operator for most of his life and was employed for Harvey Brazeau and Tom Ayotte construction companies for many years. He also worked for Delmolino & Sons and was last employed for O'Reilly Auto Parts.
Edward was an active member of his community he was a member of the Adams Elks Lodge, Adams Turners, Adams Mountain Club, Adams American Legion and a longtime member of the former Fraternal Order of Eagles in North Adams.
His wife Sylvia (Albrycht) Duquette whom he married June 14, 1986 died June 21, 2018.
Survivors include daughters Anna Lescarbeau of Adams, Jennifer Perry (Joseph) of North Adams, son Edward Joseph Duquette Jr. of Clarksburg, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Edward also leaves his stepchildren Deborah Mekdeci (Bill Gardner) of Adams, Thomas Hartman (Sandra) of Adams and Vincent Hartman (Kristen) of Mary Esther, FL. companion Jewel Morse, nephew Troy O'Dell and his wife Maria and his devoted cat Dottie. Survivors also include two sisters Dawn Wilson, Annette Talbot, two brothers James Duquette and John Duquette and many nieces and nephews. Edward was predeceased by five sisters and four brothers Linda DelRatez, Lorraine Dupre, Ruth Skiffington, Janet Duquette, Ellen Duquette, Arthur Duquette, Raymond Duquette, Walter Duquette and William Duquette.
Funeral services to celebrate the Life of Edward J. Duquette will take place Tuesday November 23, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA. PLEASE WEAR A MASK. Burial with full military honors will follow in the family plot in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours at the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams are Monday from 4-7 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested the Adams Elks Lodge Scholarship Fund through the funeral home.
