Obituary for Roderick Edward Gratton

Roderick Edward Gratton, 90, of Pittsfield, MA died on Wednesday July 7, 2021 at Berkshire Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Roderick was born on June 22, 1931, in Barre, VT, and was the son of Lionel Gratton and Gertrude (Jeffrey) McKee. He attended local schools and was a 1949 graduate of St. Joseph's High School.
Roderick was a veteran of the Korean War serving his country in the US Army.
He was employed by Verizon and the former New England Telephone Company where he worked as a foreman for many years before his retirement.
Roderick was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, where he was a member of its Eucharistic Adoration. He was a longtime communicant of the former All Souls Church. Roderick enjoyed woodworking, crafting furniture, birdhouses, and bookcases for his family. He also enjoyed the outdoors and working in his yard.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette (Levante) Gratton, with whom he recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary, and their two daughters- Paula Powers, and her husband Alex of Wyckoff, NJ, and Brewster, MA, and Donna Tringali and her husband Steven of Millville, MA. He also leaves three beloved grandchildren- Nicholas Powers, Anna Powers, and Christopher Tringali.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Roderick Gratton will be celebrated Monday July 12, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church. Entombment will follow in St. Michael the Archangel Mausoleum at St. Joseph's Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
