Obituary for Russell Henry Amos

Russell Henry Amos Sr., 67, of North Adams died on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at his home.
Russell was born in North Adams on February 1, 1953 to the late Russell J. and Dorothy M (Grant) Amos. He attended local schools. He was a professional boxer who belonged to the Duke AAU golden gloves boxing team out of Springfield, MA. He also taught boxing at the local YMCA. He worked for the city of North Adams Park and recreational. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in North Adams. He also liked to bowl at Mt. Greylock Bowl in the bowling league. He was a kind, humble and honest man.
Russell leaves his son Russell Henry Amos, Jr. of North Adams and a granddaughter. He also leaves four Aunts Mabel (Amos) Hamilton, Marion (Grant) Royston, Emily (Grant) Foote, Diane (Philip) Amos, one uncle James Amos, nieces and nephews Alecia Amos, Jessica Amos, Tanecia Amos, Grant Amos and Tre Amos and his sister-in-law Sharon (Perry) Amos. He was predeceased by his brothers Craig and Grant Amos as well as his sister-in-law Sally (Dupre) Amos.
